Club Brief
Founding of The Club
In 1992,(Officially commenced in 1994) a group of
young, progressive, visionary and dedicated bachelors of Weppa-Wanno extraction
came together to establish The Enesegbe Club which literarily means people of
the same understanding and ideology. The intention of these young men was to
create a club that will enable them socialize, network and add value to
themselves and the entire Weppa-Wanno in general.
FORMATION OF THE ENESEGBE CLUB -
VISION OF THE FOUNDERS
CARDINAL PROGRAMMES
The Enesegbe club had programs that attracted
dignitaries and very learned people in the society. Such programs include
Annual lectures, quarterly magazines, parents’ night and later parents’ day,
hospital visitations, annual retreat and picnic, essay and mathematics
competition/prize giving and the like – very well valued and cherished. People
like the current Okumagbe, HRM George Eghabor JP, late Hon. Obozuwa and late
George Akhamiokhor were always looking forward to our programs including
sponsorship of these programs. At the maiden edition of our Annual lectures,
late George Akhamiokhor, in his opening speech while soliciting support for the
club said: Usagbe club has the money but The Enesegbe club has the ideas. In a
quick reaction at the hall, Senator Francis Alimikhena who attended and was the
president of Usagbe club then said I agree that The Enesegbe club has ideas but
Usagbe club also have ideas, not money. It was the toast of the day and
thereafter. In a related development, when we visited Raypower 100 radio to
invite people to our annual lecture, Agnes Nwabuwa, the program presenter asked
us ARE YOU SURE YOU WILL CONTINUE THESE PROGRAMMES IN THE FUTURE? The chartered
president, Peter Okhakumhe of blessed memory said YES, RAIN OR STORM WE MUST CONTINUE
THE PROGRAMES.
